Emily loves modeling for pictures :)
The hostel was gigantic because it used to be a convent. And since there were five of us, we had to get a six person room. We ended up sharing it with Craig, an Australian. He was pretty cool, but he was barely ever there. What I've learned from all my travels is how chill and relaxed Australians are. They all go on month long backpacking trips throughout the world, and it's totally normal for them. They work for a few months, make a few thousand dollars, and then spend it all traveling. Pretty much sounds like my dream life.
Anyway, the next morning we woke up and headed to Checkpoint Charlie, where we took some pictures, and even got our passports stamped. The stamp guy was a little stamp happy and even stamped some of our arms.

After Checkpoint Charlie, we walked around a little bit, saw our first glimpse of the wall, and then headed over to see the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and the information center underneath.

After the Memorial, we walked a few blocks to the Brandenburger Tor (Gate). There were some sweet street dancers there.
I also met my new boyfriend along the way.

When we got back to the hostel, we made a delicious dinner, saw a beautiful rainbow, took a nap, and then went out to meet up with Kelsey's German exchange partner from high school. At the Kneipe we met a couple more Australians, who have been traveling for a few months now, and they just finished with the southern half of the states. Once again, the Australians really know what's up.
The next morning, we woke up, ate some Nougat Bits (the most delicious cereal ever) and then took the Metro to the East Side Gallery, which is the part of the Wall that was painted in 1990 as an international memorial for freedom.

We went to see the sunset at the Brandenburger Tor after our nap, and then we pretty much just hung out the rest of the night.
The next morning Sladjana and Kirsten were already gone, but Kelsey, Emily, and I decided to walk around and see Berlin a little more before leaving. We saw the Fernsehturm (TV tower), a few fountains, and the Berliner Dom (church).

Berlin was a pretty cool city. The cities here aren't really like American cities because they're majorly lacking skyscrapers, but we sure can't beat their history.
