Good-Bye Barbecue and Mein Geburtstag

So on Sunday we all decided to have a huge farewell barbecue and bonfire. We all brought a dish to spare, and the boys bought the supplies to cook the brats and burgers. Emily and I brought brownies, but there was also rice pudding, lemon cake, pasta salad, regular salad, potato salad, chips, and the boys also decided to make Wop.

For those of you who don't know what Wop is, it's basically just a lot of alcohol, juice, and fruit mixed into a drink. It's set overnight, and the next day it's supposed to taste very sweet. This Wop was still too strong for me, so I didn't have much, but almost everyone else loved it, including our leader for the semester, Rouven. We invited him and his girlfriend Cornelia for the night.

It was an awesome get together though. There was music, some friendly pong, piano playing, playing with fire, and interpretive dancing (my personal favorite).

It was upon my request :)

After a while, we cleaned up, and then headed outside for the bonfire. We played a few games, ate s'mores, and just relaxed. It was a perfect farewell party.

And then yesterday was my 20th birthday. No more goofy teenage years for me :) We have two finals for our last class, and one of them was yesterday of course. But I think it went pretty well, and once class was over around six, we all went out for pizza at Como Lario's, a tiny little pizza joint around the corner.

After pizza, I wanted to go to Molly Malone's with everyone to hang out, the local Irish pub. It was 6:45 at this point, and the pub didn't open until 7, so a few of us decided to go walk around the Botanical Gardens down the street for a little while.

And then we were headed back to the pub. Since visiting Ireland, I've fallen in love with pretty much anything Irish, so I thought it would be perfect to go to an Irish pub for my birthday, and I didn't want to do anything too crazy especially because it was a Tuesday night, and some of us had class in the morning (not me thankfully).

We just hung out, goofed around, drank delicious drinks, including Irish Cider, Bailey's, and some Baby Guinesses. It was a nice night to say the least. I even learned a few Irish steps from Kelsey and Emily, who had learned some Irish dance moves in grade school. The nicest part though, was that I didn't have to pay for a single thing all night. Almost everyone chipped in to pay for my drinks, but mostly Mike and Kyle. So thank you everyone so much for the amazing birthday!

After the pub, we walked down the street for some delicious Doeners, very similar to gyros. Thanks again everyone for the amazing birthday!
